I’m looking forward to reading this in full today, but looks really good for Magic fans or anyone looking for new ideas for their own homebrew world. All you really need is races for the characters, monsters for them to face, and some ideas to build a campaign. Plane Shift: Zendikar on Dungeon Masters. Plane Shift: Zendikar was written by James Wyatt. The point is to experience the worlds of Magic in a new way, through the lens of the D&D rules. Plane Shift: Zendikar, released in 2016, was the first release in the Plane Shift series of digital supplements, presenting the Magic: The Gathering setting of Zendikar for Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. The D&D magic system doesn’t involve five colors of mana or a ramping-up to your most powerful spells, but the goal isn’t to mirror the experience of playing Magic in your role-playing game. I pulled out this quote from the article, which I think makes sense. In general these Plane Shift documents are wonderful resources for developing a campaign setting. If you are new to MtG check out their extensive lore section Plane Shift: Zendikar provides a great overview of this plane and the adventuresome possibilities, touching on potential villains and adversaries along with hints at many locations and a handful of details to spark imaginations for new 5E D&D scenarios.
